I acquired my first sheltie puppy in 1972 when I was just a teenager. Of course I had a lot to learn, but with the help of mentors, I put a Championship on "Sassy" and bred her to the #1 stud in the country, CH. Halstor's Peter Pumpkin. Since then, there's been no looking back. At first the Champions came slowly, but currently we are at 100+ Champions. We have also earned 3 All-breed Best in Shows, 2 National Bests of Breed, 9 Register of Merit producers, and I myself am am an AKC Breeder of Merit. I have also been awarded Life Membership by the American Shetland Sheepdog Assn., a tremendous honor. During all these years I have had house dogs that I adored. I also learned about genetic ailments specific to shelties, and now I test all of my dogs for every genetic ailment. Showing and breeding shelties has been a true labor of love.
